My refrigerator review begins when I bought this refrigerator from Home Depot to replace my 17 year old one that was beginning to get a little loud.


That was a waste of $400. I've had this new one for a month and it is the noisiest thing I have ever heard. And it's not only loud but irritating!

The compressor/fluid flow sounds like someone is taking a piece of metal to a grinding wheel.

GE was no help either (they manufacture Americana refrigerators). I sent an email explaining the situation from GE's consumer help site. GE didn't even bother to respond.

I will never buy a GE appliance again and I may end up junking this one.

 Americana Refrigerator: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

My Americana refrigerator is the worst fridge I've ever had in my 60 years of living! The WORST!

Every time I open the door,the fridge moves several inches. I'm NOT a big woman...I am 5'5" and 107 pounds.

My lettuce freezes in the bottom drawer while the ice melts in the top freezer section.

I hate this piece of crap. You are much better off buying a used fridge from a yard sale than wasting your hard-earned money on this.
