Kenmore Bottom Freezer (Model 596.75523400) Stopped Cooling

I purchased my Kenmore stainless steel french door bottom freezer in 2004 for $1385.73.


2 months ago the ice maker quit making ice. We got that fixed temporarily but now the refrigerator has stopped cooling and the repairman says it is most likely the compressor.

I contacted Sears to see what they would do about it. The first person I spoke with said it is my fault that I didn't purchase an extended warranty. I said for the price I paid it should last 20 years.

She said I should know I only had a one year warranty and there was nothing they could do. She was very rude. I then asked to speak with the complaint department and expressed my grief over my refrigerator.

I saved for years to buy this refrigerator and cannot afford to replace it. But the representative said there was nothing they could do and a compressor would run between $300-700.00.

Needless to say I have made my last purchase at Sears.

 My fridge does not work!

My Fridg has been inoperable for almost two months, after waking up to a Hot Fridg one morning, the Freezer cotinued to work. After paying a repair man 3 times with no working Fridg, I am fed up. I sacrificed to own this product and it is disheartening to go through this situation. I have 3 children and a baby so this really makes life complicated.
I would recommend doing your homework prior to any major/ expensive purchase. Paid $1700 with Military Sales.

 Kenmore elite bottom freezer stopped working

My Kenmore Elite bottom freezer refrigerator is only 4 years old and stopped making ice and started making a kind of annoying noise.

It seems to be trying to click in, but stops and is unable to make ice. I am getting tired of this fridge and would not buy Kenmore again.

We paid close to $1600 and now it is useless.
