Nothing But Problems with Our Kenmore Elite 22 cu. ft. Bottom Freezer French Door Refrigerator - White by: Judi
Originally purchased our Kenmore Elite refrigerator because of its efficiency rating and we've had nothing but problems.
Along with the freezer creating frost and low settings and the lines freezing up on us, today was the freon line gone.
We were fortunate enough to have a repairman with an honest bone in him who said that although he could charge it for $275, he advised against it as the Kenmore is a refrigerator that he's serviced many times for this problem.
Our refrigerator isn't even 5 years old and cost more than my first car.

Save Your Money!!! by: bandd
We bought a Kenmore Elite french door bottom freezer in black to match the appliances in our new house.
It's only a month away from being 3 years old. We paid $2500+ for this refrigerator and I came home yesterday (7/15/10), opened the refrigerator door to get something to drink and smelled burning plastic and electrical wiring.
I touched the top of the refrigerator next to the lights and everything was hot and beginning to turn brown. I immediately unplugged the unit and unloaded everything into the second refrigerator and ice chests.
I did research on it and it's been an issue without recall and has caused several fires. I'm now researching all brands to see which one is good and safe.
It's amazing how many refrigerator brands are causing fires. Do your research carefully and stay as safe as possible when buying a refrigerator.
Don't let the salesman talk you into something without the research.
