LG Bottom Freezer Refrigerator (model #LDC227205w/03)

When I bought my LG refrigerator just a short 3 months ago I never would have dreamed that I would be so unhappy with it in such a short period of time.
While I loved the room that my LG bottom freezer refrigerator had to offer and the functionality of it, I do feel that I
have to complain about the ice maker.
Early on I noticed a
funny taste in the ice it made so I would continuously throw out the ice and make more but it only improved a little. I would even rinse the ice in hopes that it would help a little.
While water can taste bad this
actually tastes like plastic. It was beyond bearable which made using the ice impossible. Just the idea of having to buy ice so that we could have it ready at all times seemed odd.
The
water that comes out of our faucet never tasted anything like this so it seemed rather simple to blame it on the refrigerator and the contents within the water supply line within the refrigerator to be causing the issue.
We've had this refrigerator for more than a few months and the
taste of plastic has never gotten better or gone away.
If you are looking for a bottom freezer fridge but you don't really need to use ice in your drinks, then this is a refrigerator worth considering. Though if a functioning ice maker and good tasting ice is important to you then all I can say (and very vehemently)
Move On!!To put it bluntly,
the ice maker is the pits and I am very disappointed.
I was unsure if I was the only LG refrigerator owner experiencing this problem, so I went online and have found many forums where people describe my exact same issue even after changing out the filter and the ice maker numerous times!!!
I feel like my only next step is to call up the store where I bought my fridge and hope they will do something about it. Sadly, if not, I am stuck with a great refrigerator with a useless ice maker.
While I read many different reviews on LG before getting one, I never thought that I would end up with a lemon, or that this would happen to my fridge. I was completely wrong.
