I am looking for the QUIETEST refrigerator on the market today.


CEO of a company. We have an open office and we are looking for the quietest model to keep the staff happy. Price / size / style is not an option. Whisper quiet is paramount.

 Samsung = Loud...Very Loud

Samsung french door fridge, Don't buy this brand! They say its normal but the floor vibrates through the home and i can hear is run in the basement, the Dual Cooling they promote should come with earplugs, and when you call to complain the say " its normal, and if we send someone out for a second opinion you will have to pay for the service if no defect is found" well ok then so if you say its normal then theres nothing wrong. I have to turn up the tv sometimes. What a joke Samsung is, I wish apple made Appliances

 Noise that makes you cringe!

We have a Whirlpool side by side and it makes so much noise I wake at night thinking someone has broken into the house. There is no way the ice maker can make ice when we sleep or watch tv because of the noise. Not to mention all the other creeks and noises that come from it. When we first bought our house the noises scared me to death! Now I'm used to them but when relatives visit I have to explain to them so they don't panic in the middle of the night.

We just spent a fortune on a French door bottom freezer Kitchenaid and it is horrible! The compressor sounds like an industrial deli fridge. You know, the kind that you have to almost yell over when you order your sandwich? It is horrid. When it finally shuts off, my whole body relaxes and my jaws unclench. I now hate being in my kitchen and I run out just as fast as I can when it kicks on, which is all the time. I have called for repair but I know that they'll just say it's fine. I am going to sell this, take the hit and buy the Samsung french door, bottom freezer, fridge that my daughter has. It's whisper quiet.

If you are looking for the noisiest refrigerator you would have to includes the ADMIRAL Signature Side by Side.

We have a small kitchen and would like an old one that purrs like a kitten.

 Just a few questions...

John,

Does your saying "not a problem" for size, cost, etc. mean that you have space for a huge refrigerator and price isn't an issue? If so, then the first real question would be,

  1. How big does this need to be? Meaning how many people will be using it?

  2. How much freezer space will you need?

Otherwise, the best bet for a large whisper quiet fridge is something like a Dacor or a top of the line KitchenAid refrigerator.

Another thing to look into would be getting a Freezerless refrigerator, meaning all fridge. It's great of for office settings except that you'll also need to install a separate ice machine, though these work great as well. I'm sure there is a very quite one as well but I'm not aware of one to suggest.
