Maytag Black Top Freezer Refrigerator (model #MTB2195AEB)

Our black Maytag top freezer refrigerator is beautiful and we love the movable shelves. Though we have had several problems with the freezer (not cold enough), refrigerator too cold.


The whole unit quit, not to soon after we purchased it. A part was not plugged in correctly. So, that resulted in loss of all farm medications, perishables and freezer food. Not to mention getting the Sear's repair out here.

It could be 10 days or more plus they do not carry most parts. I have learned to fix a dryer/washer part(in each), but the freezer is really uncharted territory for me.

Now the cool vent fan is not working well.

Why buy from Sear's, if they can not service your area promptly? You can go to the laundry mat in town, but the refrigerator can not be duplicated.

I do not need to lose the 2nd amount of food and or medications. A cooler with ice will not suffice.

We live on a farm and I need to be in bed, not up all night troubleshooting a refrigerator.

 Maytag Top Freezer Fridge MTB2195AEB Has Problems Too!

My Maytag top freezer refrigerator (model MTB2195AEB) just had it's 2nd repair. This time it was to the evaporator fan motor.

Had to call repair guy because, I wanted the compressor checked out. It works fine and if
you call Maytag(Whirlpool), it is a lost cause.

I've initiated a recall for others like me, see if others will back it up.
