Noisy Danby Designer Refrigerator Review (Model DFF1140WY)

Our Danby refrigerator review about our apartment-sized refrigerator is actually a good one. It works well EXCEPT for one problem that may cause us to pitch it out and get a new fridge.


The problem is NOISE!!!!!! When the refrigerator is working it is so loud it actually keeps us awake...when our apartment is quiet and the refrigerator stops running the silence is like someone turned off a jack hammer.

When I called Danby the man I spoke with simply said, "Gosh, I've never heard of that problem before." Unfortunately, he did not offer any help. Unless we can get a solution we may have to get a new refrigerator.

Has anyone had similar problems or at least a suggestion on how to make it quieter?

I bought a brand new Danby Mod DFF180E1WDB Fridge a couple weeks ago. It often sounds like someone is choking a cow (literally), and sometimes it switches to howling like a wolf. It makes your hair stand up! It will wake you up in a different room at the other end of the house. I already had one that did that in a different house, so when I moved I left it behind and thinking it was a coincidence I foolishly bought another of the same brand. I think this one is going to the dump, and I definitely won't buy another Danby!

Bought it less than a month ago. First day was quiet, then the fan gradually got noisier each day and now it sounds like a hair dryer on low. Danby isn't forthcoming with a solution and asked me to "provide an audio recording" so they can assess the issue. When I responded I have no way of doing that, the support went silent. I've prompted Danby for a response to schedule a phone call to no avail. Still no response. IMHO, both, the fridge as well as the Danby "support" suck.

I bought mine at Costco, it is less than a year old and also keeps me awake at night. It's ridiculous!

I wish the sales person from Warner Stellian had told me that the Danby refrigerator is noisy. it runs loud at night. how does that happen? I wish I could get rid of it and pretend I never bought it.

I have a small refrigerator designer series ,one year old very loud when running and always sweating inside dealer says this is normal, not happy with this product would not recommend this to anyone have no choice but get rid of it

 extreme noise in danny apartment fridge

my apartment size danny fridge with bottom freezer is so loud my tenants can't sleep, it stared about 8 months after it was new. does anyone have a fix for it , including danby?
