We Regret Buying a GE Profile Artica Side by Side Refrigerator
by Kenyon D.

I bought my
GE Profile Artica built in side by side refrigerator (model #PSH23PGTAWV) at a scratch and dent store. While I have bought other appliances at the same store and been satisfied, I wasn't so lucky this time.
This refrigerator started
leaking water into the produce drawer since the minute I plugged it in 2 years ago.
When the repair tech came, he said I
needed to buy an Ice Ball Kit--because the main drain line was freezing.
I thought at the time that this should be a recall item, but I could not find a recall list at
GE's website.
I chose
not to follow the repairman's advice as it was a costly repair.
Then, I
had a power outage, and the refrigerator
did not come back on when the power did. The ice melted and ran out onto our hardwood floors and ruined them.
The
repair guy came, unplugged the fridge, and plugged it back in and said everything was fine. The following power outage caused the same thing.
The 3rd repairman told me that
none of the motherboards were functioning and that I needed approx
$1100 in repairs and that he wouldn't repair it.
What an expensive mistake?!?! I do not recommend buying this refrigerator and will never buy another
GE appliance.
(I think I'm going to replace my
GE with a
Samsung refrigerator because they seem to have such a great track record.)
